GSoC 2020 - Redirection for the NIST datasets

You probably reached this page because you read the documentation of the NNbenchmarck R package and clicked on the links associated to the NIST datasets. The correct links, which are mentionned below, are in static pages not updated since 2003 and hosted on a very slow server. If these correct links were mentionned in the package documentation, CRAN would test them at regular occasions and raise an alert because of no response before the timeout. We decided to create this intermediate page to avoid these alerts and publish a package that successfully passes all CRAN checks.

NIST Links

The correct links are at the following addresses:

• For the Gauss1 dataset, visit Gauss1 on NIST website.
• For the Gauss2 dataset, visit Gauss2 on NIST website.
• For the Gauss3 dataset, visit Gauss3 on NIST website.

When clicking on the above links, be patient. They are VERY slow! If the response is « Not available », relaunch the page (press the F5 key) and the page should appear with the mention « not secured ». The certificate of this server is probably broken.

The above datasets are also available in the NISTnls R package published in 2012 by Douglas Bates. We copied them in the NNbenchmark package along with other datasets.
